Expressive Cognition is an independent research project in applied linguistics. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
When you complete an assessment we store the following anonymized data: your score range and confidence level, scores across six core dimensions and three contextual moderators, the prompts you were shown, and transcripts of your spoken responses. This data is not linked to any personally identifiable information — no name, email, IP address, or user ID is stored alongside it.
Retained data is used to improve the assessment instrument and to better understand patterns in verbal reasoning across speakers. Aggregate findings may be shared publicly in the future. No individual results are ever shared or published.
Audio is sent to OpenAI Whisper for transcription and is not stored by us after processing.
OpenAI — transcription and language analysis. Supabase — anonymized data storage. Vercel — application hosting.
This service is not intended for users under 13.
